A Bit About Me
Hi There, my name is Kimberly, Occupational Therapist, owner and founder of Potentiality Therapy Services. I oversee a small team of Therapists providing clinical knowledge and supervision. I greatly enjoy teaching and leading therapists to grow and expand their knowledge of Pediatrics and the role of Occupational Therapy in the natural environment.
The name Potentiality Therapy Services was birthed from a Mother’s Heart raising a special needs child. Every mother and caregiver dreams about their child’s potential and future. The definition of Potentiality is “the ability for development, achievement or success." I believe in empowering families and caregivers to encourage children to reach their highest potential and to keep dreaming about their future no matter what challenges may lie ahead.
I received my Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2008 from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. I have extensive expensive in Pediatrics in settings including: Schools, Private Clinics, Cyber Schools and Early Intervention. I have additional training in areas including: Sensory Integration, Medically Complex Pediatric Population, and Feeding Development (SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Therapist https://sosapproachtofeeding.com , Handwriting (Handwriting without Tears Level 1 specialist) https://www.lwtears.com/professional-learning/certification and Assistive Technology. Additional Experience in Out Patient Occupational Therapy in the Adult Populations including working with diagnosis including but not limited to: COPD, Arthritis, Brain Injury, Processing Disorders and Eating Disorders.
Other special interests include the role of Occupational Therapy in Mental Health Diagnoses. Independent Research including Neurodiversity and the Medically Fragile Population and the impact on Caregivers Occupational Performance while care giving for these populations. Seek to empower Caregivers using Occupational Therapy modalities to thrive in all situations and use their experience to impact and help and assist others. Long Term Goal is to expand Potentiality to provide grants and aid to enable families to successfully care for Neurodiverse and Medically Fragile Individuals at home without institutions or long term care facilities.
